The Compound

This weekend trip was great. Good family time and I was able to set my eyes on my dad and make sure he was OK, and able to be there for my Mom and ease her mind as well.  Family is so important. It was a relief also to hear that the family compound is definitely going up for sale. They are going to finish up the cabin improvements, then they are going to put it up.

So…the compound has been the center of the family since 2001, when Mom and Dad decided to live out the last few years they had together. Mom had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had less than a 1% of survival and two years at best.By the Grace of God, she is still with us today.

The family compound is what we jokingly call it, but isn’t huge though it does have a lot to offer the right buyer. One large main house with every luxury available, one fully furnished and decorated cabin, one apartment/in-law suite, all with front and back porches and amazing views of the water.  Then there is the outside kitchen with an attached screened in room, fire pit and grilling area. There is the fully stocked workshop with every tool/power tool/saw thingy known to man kind, there is the big shed with every yard tool known to mankind. There is the greenhouse. There are two boats; one large pontoon boat and one fishing boat and two docks. Some of the best bass fishing in the country – people come from all over for the national competitions and also great hunting. There is quite a bit of land, there are beautiful gardens and all kinds of fruit trees  and vines. It is a little slice of heaven. It would be perfect for two brothers who enjoyed fishing and hunting, who also had families who wanted to be in a bit of luxury.

They hope to have it sold before the end of the year.
